Tattoo Artist Makes Breast Cancer Survivors Feel ‘Whole Again'

After undergoing reconstructive surgery, many breast cancer survivors turn to Vinnie Myers to complete their path to recovery.

Roughly 8,000 women from all 50 states and about 40 countries have travelled to see Myers, a tattoo artist whose specialty is tattooing realistic nipples and areolas, according to NBC's "Today" show. For most, the trip to his Maryland shop is their first time inside a tattoo parlor.

Karen Scotchlas of Morrisville, North Carolina, one of Myers' clients, said she was confident her cancer would be gone, but it was important for her to feel "whole again."

After getting the tattoos, Scotchlas said she couldn't stop telling her friends about them.

"It's such an incredible feeling to look in the mirror and you feel like you're whole and you're a woman again. It completely gave me my confidence back," Scotchlas said.
