In November, Aetna officials announced that the company would be laying off 100 employees in Connecticut, mostly in Hartford. Those employees received notice on Wednesday that their jobs would be cut, company officials said.

Part of the reason, company officials said, are declining membership and the state of the economy.

The cuts are among the 625 positions the company is cutting across the country.

No specific area or division is being targeted. The cuts are across all divisions.
