Police have made an arrest in the hit-and-run of a 7-year-old girl in Canton on Jan. 26.
The girl walked into Dowd Avenue and was hit by a red 2004 Chevrolet Impala at 5:22 p.m. that night, police said. She has been hospitalized at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center ever since.
On Tuesday morning, Leontina Scanlon, 18, of Simsbury turned herself in to the Canton Police Department, where she was charged with evading responsibility.
Scanlon, a senior at Simsbury High School, was released on a $2,500 bond and is due in Hartford Superior Court on March 12.
