Two Mitchell College students have been accused with torching a car on the New London school's campus.

Philip Baton, 18, of Griswold, and Ruben Quinones, 19, of Colchester, are charged with setting fire to the car owned by a Mitchell College employee, The Day of New London reported.

Police say the pair were caught on surveillance tape approaching the car, then walking away.  Baton then walked towards the car again after it was on fire, according to police.  The two are then seen walking into the Mattson dormitory.

Police are not identifying the victim, but say she was involved in a disciplinary hearing against Baton that ended with the suspect being banned from living on campus, according to the paper.

The pair were arrested Friday. Baton and Quinones are both facing arson and criminal mischief charges.
