Christopher Bizilj’s family claims the gun that killed the 8-year-old Ashford boy at a gun show was defective and unreasonably dangerous, and they blame the failure to properly service it.

The family is suing the owner of Westfield Sportsman's Club in western Massachusetts, where Bizilj died after shooting himself in the head, the promoters of the event and those who supplied the weapon and ammunition.

Bizilj’s family claims the Uzi sub-machine gun jammed twice before Christopher lost control of the weapon and fired into his head.

Bizilj’s family filed the civil lawsuit on Friday that a 15-year-old instructor who cleared the gun and handed it back to the victim failed to provide proper guidance.

The Associated Press was able to unable to reach anyone named in the lawsuit could be reached for comment after business hours Monday.
