You might not be able to grill those hamburgers, steaks and ribs depending on where you got the meat, and when.

This Fourth of July weekend, double-check the packaging because your barbecue fare might be contaminated with E. Coli.

The JBS Swift Beef Company voluntarily recalled more then 380,000 pounds of beef after 24 cases of illnesses in at least 13 states.

Stop and Shop and Price Chopper have also recalled the beef products sold at their stores and everal Connecticut stores are affected.

Stop & Shop recalled several types of lean ground beef fold between April 29 and June 6 and has had no reports of illness as of June 30.

Check Price Chopper's Web site to see if your's is one of them. The recall includes ground beef and beef loin bottom sirloin steaks dated from May 7 to May 16.

Costco and Sam’s Club might have also received the meat, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture

The affected JBS products sold at Costco include steaks, ribs and ground beef sold between April 28 and May 28, the Hartford Courant reports.

Any contaminated meat would be in boxes labeled “EST. 969” with a packaged date of “042109” and a time stamp ranging from “0618” and “1130.”

Originally, the recall was for 41,280 pounds but then JBS, which is located in Colorado, recalled another 380,000 pounds of beef. USDA says all the beef products in the recall were produced on April 21.

Contaminated meat could cause serious and adverse health effects.

Double check that package of beef before you put it on the grill, just to make sure you’re safe for the Fourth of July holiday.
