Cops Investigate Home Invasion, Car Fire, Jewelry Burglary

State Police connect the dots in Griswold, Norwich and Montville

Police are investigating an apparent home invasion in Griswold, a car found on fire in Montville and a burglary at Grader Jewelers in Norwich.

The day began around 8 a.m. when a burned out car was discovered in Montville. 

Tracing the registration back to the owner's home in Griswold, police discovered a family tied up in their bathroom and could hear them making noise.  They were uninjured.

The family's keys were stolen and when police learned the family was somehow connected to Grader Jewelers in Norwich, they investigated the store.

Burglars went through the store and an unknown amount was taken.

Police also made “well-being checks” at the company’s stores in Groton and Waterford, the Day of New London reports.

The suspects remain at large, according to state police.
