Bah-humbug recession! Vacant space will not be an eyesore in Blue Back Square this holiday season.

The empty spot next to Verizon Wireless and across from REI - 63 Raymond Road in West Hartford - will be filled with art.

In December, the space will hold the photography exhibit called “Art-Full.”

It’s a project by the Charter Oak Cultural Center and Yosefa Drescher Fine Art.

The art comes from Drescher, a curator and art dealer who specializes in Israeli photography.

“The land in which [Israeli photographers] live and work is replete with gripping visual scenes, and striking images both human and landscape,” Drescher said in a news release.

If you like what you see, you can take it home with you. The items are for sale, and your purchase will help the Charter Oak Cultural Center, a multicultural arts center.

The gallery opens on Dec. 10 and goes through 26. It’s free and open everyday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The grand opening reception will be held on Dec. 10, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30.p.m.
