Judge Ends Free Speech Argument

A federal judge has made a ruling in a controversial free speech case in Burlington.
U.S. District Court Judge Mark Kravitz has ruled that Burlington school officials acted within their rights to discipline Avery Doninger for an Internet posting that criticized Lewis Mills High School officials.
The case stems from a 2007 dispute over comments the student made on a blog when she was secretary for the junior class.
Doninger's attorney said they will appeal Kravitz's ruling and take the issue to the U.S. Supreme Court if necessary.
