Funeral Burglar Finally Caught: Police

As residents of Branford and North Branford attend funeral services to mourn departed loved ones, someone has been breaking into homes and police said they have a suspect.

Branford Police arrested Christopher Teneyck, 40 -- for a second day in a row.

Police said he was caught attempting to burglarize a home on Pleasant Point Road, so police obtained a search and seizure warrant for Teneyck’s home and car on Wednesday and found TVs, jewelry, money and electronics that were taken over several months. Police said the items came from several burglaries in Branford and North Branford, some of which happened as residents attended funeral services.

Police had warned residents to be on alert.

Police used the B-Informed alert notification system to contact area residents to make them aware of Teneyck’s capture and thank the residents for their assistance.

Teneyck was charged with three counts of third-degree burglary and three counts of third-degree larceny. He is being held on a $450,000 bond.
