A Groton high school teacher has been arrested, accused of sexually assaulting a student.
Police have been investigating for several weeks and arrested Timothy Riendeau, 29, of Groton.
The art teacher is charged with second-degree sexual assault. The school superintendent says that when the allegations first came out, the teacher was placed on administrative leave.
He is being held on a $150,000 court-ordered bond.
An NBC Connecticut crew is headed to Groton and more information will be posted once it is available.
