Bridgeport Police are investigating after the discovery of two headless roosters hanging from a tree.
The birds were found near the intersection of Housatonic Avenue and Grand Street last week, the Connecticut Post reported.
What is believed to be the jawbone from a sheep, a snakeskin and coconut halves arranged in a semi-circle were also found nearby, police told the paper. The roosters were stuffed with some type of root, and their necks were sewn up.
Also under the tree was a bag filled with a black knit cap and a box cutter. Police believe the items may all have been part of a Santeria curse aimed at a man who works in the area.
The man has been undergoing a child custody battle with an ex-girlfriend, according to the Connecticut Post.
This latest incident is one of several Santeria-related occurrences in Bridgeport recently.
