A Wolcott man was determined to save a $500 leaf blower, and threw all his weight into doing so, when he tackled a woman who was attempting to steal it.

Melissa Baresi, 21, of Torrington, allegedly told Wolcott police she tried to steal a leaf blower from a Charles Drive home to finance her drug habit, the Waterbury Republican-American reports.

But Benjamin Rodgers and three friends spotted her from his living room, tackled her and held onto his leaf blower, the newspaper reports.
