The mother of a slain 21-year-old is suing the hotel where her daughter was stabbed more than two dozen times.

Layla Banks’ mother, Florence Banks, says that managers of Stamford Plaza Hotel and Conference Center could have prevented the death if they had banned underage parties.

Police say Layla was among 60 to 100 people at the hotel the night of Oct. 13, 2007 for a party that included lots of alcohol and maybe drugs.

That is where Layla was stabbed more than two dozen times by her ex-boyfriend, Juan Botello.

Florence Banks filed the lawsuit on Wednesday in Bridgeport Superior Court and is seeking unspecified damages.

The hotel's general manager did not immediately return a call seeking comment Thursday.

Botello is serving a 40-year prison sentence.
