Three players on Sacred Heart University's men's lacrosse team have been accused of conspiracy to commit sexual assault on an 18-year female student.

Authorities told the Connecticut Post that Timothy Sanders, 19, of Ashburn, Virginia and the woman were having consensual sex at the Roncali dorm, when Sanders suddenly summoned the other two men to the room.

Nicholas Travers, 18, of Smithtown, New York, Zachari Triner, 18, of Mansfield, Massachusetts, are accused of sexually assaulting the woman while Sanders held her down.

The victim screamed and fought, police told the Post, and Triner and Travers fled. As the victim sobbed, Sanders asked the student if he could again have sex with her, police told the newspaper.

Sanders was charged with first-degree unlawful restraint and conspiracy to commit sexual assault.

Police charged Travers and Triner with conspiracy to commit first-degree sexual assault on Sunday.

Sanders' lawyer says the allegations are "grossly exaggerated." Police say Triner denied touching the girl, and Travers denied knowing anything about the incident.

Wayne Keeney, who represents Sanders said Sanders' two teammates sneaked into the dorm room as a prank.

Keeney said Travers and Triner had no sexual contact with the woman.

Travers and Triner are free after posting $25,000 bond, the Post reports. Sanders was arraigned on Monday and his bond was reduced to $15,000 and the case was continued to Jan. 5.

The school would not commend on the incident specifically, citing privacy concerns.  But a spokesperson pointed out that "any student who violates Sacred Heart University's Code of Conduct is subject to swift disciplinary action."
