A memorial marks the site where two teens were killed in a car crash on Friday. A few miles down the road, a 29-year-old Bridgeport man was killed in a crash on Sunday morning.

Lawrence Morra, 19 of Stratford, and Viviana Cavalli, 18, of Shelton, died after Morra hit a guardrail Friday night while getting off Route 8, went down embankment and hit a tree. Cavalli was the front seat passenger. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

On Sunday morning, Laqman Asad was driving southbound near exit 11 when his car went off the right side of the highway and crashed into several trees. He was the only person in the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Friends of Morra and Cavalli erected a wooden cross with their names and Friday's date, and surrounded it with flowers, stuffed animals and candles. On Sunday, family members gathered at the site to mourn their loss.

Kassandra Dimas, 18, of Shelton, a backseat passenger, suffered non life-
threatening injuries. She was treated at St. Vincent's Hospital in Bridgeport and released.

Morra was a sophomore at the University of Hartford, pursuing a degree in criminal justice. Cavalli was a student at Central Connecticut State University.

The cause of both crashes is under investigation.
