WTNH News Personality Arrested

Local television news personality, Desiree Fontaine, who works as a traffic reporter and host of Connecticut Style on WTNH News 8, has been arrested on a sixth-degree larceny charge, according to Milford police.

Fontaine, 33, of Milford, was charged on Saturday, accused of failing to pay for $104.98 worth of merchandise at Sears department store in the same town.

She was released from police custody on a promise to appear in court on July 7.

When asked to give any further details about the arrest, WTNH news director, Kirk Varner said "It is not the station's policy to comment on personnel matters."

Fontaine has spent five years working as a traffic and news reporter for TV and radio, and has worked in Washington, DC, Baltimore and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, according to her bio.
