$1 Million Bond for Suspect in Bridgeport Store Owner Murder

Five marshals escorted 18-year-old Treizy Lopez, of New Haven, into court on Tuesday, where he was arraigned for the murder of a Bridgeport store owner.

Lopez is one of two men charged in the shooting death of 57-year-old Jose Salgado on April 11.

Salgado was working at the store he owns with his wife, Sapiao's Grocery at 351 Lexington Avenue in Bridgeport, when armed robbers came in and demanded money, according to police.

He was shot right after handing over the cash.

A public defender was appointed for Lopez, who has been charged with felony murder.

He has been ordered to have no contact with the Salgado's family. 

One of Salgado's family members said loved ones will be at all court appearances in this case and .

Leighton Vanderberg, 22, of New Haven, was arrested last week in connection to the murder and was also being held on unrelated charges.
