A 10-year-old child ran a car into a building in Orange while his mother was getting a massage, police said.
Last Saturday, Rise Burrow and her child had visited a massage center in the same plaza the FedEx building on 400 Boston Post Road is located.
While Burrows was still inside the massage center, the child asked to wait in the car and the 36-year-old mother gave them the keys, police said.
The 10-year-old got into the mother's car, started it and put it in reverse. The child jumped out of the car when it began to move, Orange Police said.
The car jumped onto the curb and backed into the FedEx building leaving the structure with slight damage, according to police.
Burrow, of Guilford, was charged with risk of injury and leaving a child under the age of 12 in a motor vehicle. Her bond was set at $5,000 and she is expected to appear in court on Oct. 17.
No injuries were reported.
