Irene Postpones UConn Football Game

UConn's season-opening football game has been postponed Thursday.

The Huskies' home stadium, Rentschler Field in East Hartford, is being used as a distribution point for the National Guard helping in the recovery efforts across the state, and won't be available by Thursday night's game against Fordham.

The game would have been the debut of new Head Coach Paul Pasqualoni, and the first for the Huskies since their Fiesta Bowl appearance in January.

In a release, the university said it hoped to reschedule the game for Saturday.
