2 Injured in New Haven Hit-and-Run Are in Stable Condition: Police

Two people who were seriously injured when they were thrown from a vehicle during a hit-and-run crash in New Haven Saturday are now listed in stable condition, according to police.

Police said a vehicle turning onto Brookside Avenue from Wilmot Road was struck by another car just before 7:30 p.m. Two people were thrown from the turning vehicle during the crash.

A responding officer found two ejected victims in the roadway and called for help. There were five people between 17 and 21 in the car at the time.

No one was in the other vehicle when police arrived and witnesses said two people ran away from the scene, police said.

The two ejected victims were taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital with serious injuries. one remains in critical condition.
