At least one person was taken to the hospital after a serious crash involving a car and a tractor-trailer on Interstate 84 in Danbury Tuesday morning, according to Connecticut State Police.
The accident happened on I-84 eastbound near exit 8. Police did not immediately release details on injuries.
The Danbury Fire Department said at least one person was extricated and taken to the hospital. The department tweeted photos of the scene that showed the passenger car involved suffered heavy damage.
The Connecticut State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating.
The exit 8 on-ramp was currently closed for several hours, but has since reopened.
