2 Injured in Plainfield Crash Involving Cars, School Bus

Two people were taken to the hospital following a crash involving two cars and a school bus in Plainfield.

Two people were injured this afternoon in a Plainfield crash involving two cars and a school bus.

It happened around 3 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Route 12/Norwich Road and Cemetery Road.

Police said a school bus was stopped at a red light on Cemetery Road with two teenage students on board. Elderly Plainfield resident Albert Brunsdson, 86, was attempting to make a left-hand turn from Norwich Road when he was hit by a car traveling southbound through the intersection. The force of the impact pushed Brunsdson’s car into the front bumper of the school bus, according to police.

Brunsdson and Heidi Dugas, the driver of other car, were taken to the Plainfield Backus Emergency Care Center for treatment of injuries. Neither the bus driver nor the students required medical treatment, police said.

Brunsdson and Dugas’ cars were towed from the scene.

Police are still investigating the crash.
