Man Arrested After $20K-Worth of Illegal Fireworks Found in Durham

A Madison man was arrested after state police said they found around $20,000-worth of illegal fireworks in Durham Tuesday.

State police said they were called to 26 Pine Ledge Trail in Durham for reports of a large fireworks display. When they arrived they found both exploded and unexploded fireworks at the home.

Theodore Lynch, 50, was arrested and charged with illegal possession of fireworks, reckless endangerment, and breach of peace. He was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 19.

The State Police Emergency Services Unit responded to collect and dispose of the fireworks.
