New Britain Hit-and-Run Victim in Critical Condition

Clothes lay on the ground where a man was struck by a hit-and-run driver Thursday afternoon. Police are investigating.

The man hit by a car in New Britain while on his way to Thanksgiving dinner remained in critical condition on Friday.

Police identified the victim as 60-year-old Craig Tordonato, of New Britain.

Tordonato was hit by a car on Columbus Avenue just before 1 p.m. on Thursday and suffered serious head injuries. He was on his way to Thanksgiving dinner, according to New Britain Police Chief James Wardwell.

The driver of the car fled the scene. Police are looking for a 2007-2009 Toyota Camry in connection with the case. Investigators did not say what evidence led them to that make a model.
