A 26-year-old Watertown man has been charged with the sexual assault of a child.
Police said they started investigating after the child, who is under 10 years old, reported being sexually abused and Paul MacLellan, of Oakville, confessed to the sexual assault, police said.
MacLellan was charged with first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.
Police held him in custody on a $200,000 bond and he was arraigned at the Waterbury Superior Court on Tuesday.
It’s not clear if he has an attorney.
