3 Accused of Breaking into Cars in West Hartford

West Hartford police have arrested three men for allegedly burglarizing multiple vehicles overnight on Wednesday.

According to police, officers responded to the area of 63 Walbridge Road for a report of three men walking through a yard.

Police said when they arrived they found three men, one of whom was wearing latex gloves.

Police searched the suspects and found stolen property from multiple vehicles in the area of Walbridge Road, police said.

The only item of significant value recovered was an iPod, according to police. A key to an unknown Acura vehicle was also found.

According to police, the suspects also had rubber gloves and other burglary tools in their possession.

The same three suspects had fled from an officer earlier in the evening in the area of Boulevard and South Highland Street, police said.

The three suspects, Damian Brito, 28, of Hartford, Angel Cabrera, 22, of Hartford, and Marcus Gonzalez, 18, of Hartford were all arrested and charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools, trespassing and larceny.

Police say the greater West Hartford region continues to experience vehicle burglaries and auto thefts often as a result of unlocked vehicles.

They are crediting these three arrests to a citizen that called in to report suspicious activity.

Police are asking all residents to report any suspicious activity immediately to authorities.
