3 in ICU After Crash in Wallingford

Three people are in the intensive care unit at Yale-New Haven Hospital after a crash in Wallingford Monday morning. 

Police received several 911 calls after a truck and a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox collided at Route 68 and North Main Street Extension around 8:05 a.m. 

The driver of the Chevrolet Equinox, 68-year-old James Misenti, of Middletown, sustained serious injuries and was transported from the scene to Yale-New Haven Hospital, according to police. 

His sister, 71-year-old Rosemary Misenti, of Middletown, was sitting in the front seat and 81-year-old Joan Fazzino, of Middletown, was sitting in the back seat. Both were transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital and have life-threatening injuries, according to police. 

When officers responded, they found James Misenti on the ground and Rosemary Misenti had to be pulled from the vehicle, according to police. 

James and Rosemary Misenti and Fazzino were unresponsive when they were transported to the hospital, according to police. 

The driver of the truck reported an injury that was not evident, according to police. The passenger in the front seat was not injured in the crash.
