A 76-year-old woman died after a crash in Newington on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
Theresa Castagna, 76, of Newington, was injured when a gray Subaru Impreza and a gray Honda Civic crashed head-on at Webster Street and Webster Court around 2:30 p.m. and she was later pronounced dead at Hartford Hospital according to police.
Castagna was driving one vehicle and police identified the other driver as 25-year-old Rocky Hill resident, Jake Ciccaglione. He was seriously injured, police said.
No passengers were in either vehicle at the time of the crash.
The Mid-State Accident Reconstruction Squad is investigating the crash and police ask any witnesses to call Newington Detective Leroy Feeney at 860-594-6208.
