911 Call: Dog Attack Victim Screamed “Help Me, He's Mauling Me”

A Wilton woman lost an arm when her pet pit bull attacked.

Wilton residents frantically called 911 for help on Monday morning as their neighbor was mauled by her pet dog.

Anne Murray, 65, of Range Road in Wilton, lost one arm and part of another when her pet pit bull attacked her around 11:30 a.m. on Monday, according to police. She was in stable condition at Norwalk Hospital as of yesterday.

This morning, police released the 911 calls that brought emergency responders to Murray’s neighborhood.

“There is a dog that has mauled someone,” one 911 caller told dispatchers and said the victim was screaming for help.

The call became more frantic as the caller asked for help at Road Road and Buckboard Ridge.

“They’re screaming for help,” the caller said. “They are saying, ‘Help me, help me. He’s mauling me.”

When emergency responders arrived, they found Murray under a car, trying to protect herself.

The first police officer to arrive at the scene shot and killed the dog.

Police are investigating the dog attack and said they are having the dog's remains tested for rabies.
