Forensics Expert Describes Double Murder in Hernandez Trial

Hernandez is on trial for killing Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado after one of them accidentally spilled his drink at a Boston nightclub in July 2012

Wednesday was an emotional day in court for the families of the two men Aaron Hernandez is accused of murdering.

Testimony in the 2012 double murder trial focused on forensics, with expert Michael Haag describing the gunshots that killed Safiro Furtado and Daniel de Abreu.

Jurors saw photos of the deadly rounds and the BMW prosecutors say the victims were in when the then-Patriots tight end drove by and shot them.

During cross-examination, Hernandez's defense team tried to discredit Haag's testimony, arguing that he did not know enough about what happened in the case or the murder weapon Hernandez allegedly used.

Hernandez's fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins, was originally expected to take the stand on Wednesday, but officials say she will now likely testify Thursday.

Hernandez is already serving a life sentence for the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd, a semi-professional football player who was dating Jenkins' sister.
