Access Health CT Hires New Call Center Vendor

A Virginia-based company is taking over the call center operations for Connecticut's health insurance exchange and will implement a new health insurance adviser program to help customers seeking coverage.

Access Health CT has executed a contract with Faneuil Inc. The company has provided eligibility and enrollment support to state-based health insurance exchanges across the United States.

Faneuil was selected following a competitive bidding process. It replaces Virginia-based MAXIMUS, which was running the Connecticut exchange's customer care operations.

Access Health CT CEO Jim Wadleigh says Faneuil will recruit approximately 20 certified insurance brokers to help with the 2017 open enrollment period. The majority will be placed in a new call center planned in Bristol.

The move comes as insurance carriers say they will no longer pay commissions to independent brokers.
