Accused Drug Dealer Facing Charges in Vernon

    Sylvester "Frank" Gillespie is facing charges after police raided an apartment in the Rockville section of Vernon and found crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

    Law enforcement officers have arrested a 42-year-old man accused of selling drugs near a school in the Rockville section of Vernon.

    Police searched a basement apartment at 22 Ward Street on Tuesday after learning that drug sales were happening in the area. Officers confiscated crack cocaine, baggies and $284 in cash, according to police.

    Sylvester “Frank” Gillespie, 42, was arrested and charged with several drug offenses, including possession and sale of narcotics within 1500 feet of a school or daycare.

    He was held on $250,000 bond and is due in court Wednesday.
