Airlines Adjusting Flight Schedules as Storm Hits East Coast

With the fourth Nor'easter this month hitting the Northeast, flights are being impacted across the East Coast.

Travelers departing from and arriving to Bradley Airport should expect delays and cancellations.

As of 4:15 p.m., approximately 40-percent of Wednesday's flights are cancelled.  There are also several delays underway.  These numbers are expected to increase as the storm moves along the coast.

Airports in the New York City and Washington areas are experiencing significant impacts from the storm.

United Airlines is waiving change fees and difference in fares for new flights departing or arriving to Bradley on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.  Passengers traveling through Boston, New York and Providence will find the same travel waivers.

American Airlines is waiving change fees for travelers in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic with some restrictions.

Southwest is offering customers the chance to rebook their flights for new travel dates within two weeks without paying any additional charge.

Delta is waiving the change fee and the difference in fare if your rescheduled travel occurs by March 25.  If you rebook to travel after March 25, the change fee will be waived but the the difference in fare may apply.

It's best to check with your airline for updates before heading to the airport.
