An American Airlines flight that was scheduled to fly from Bradley International Airport to Chicago had to return to Bradley Tuesday morning due to a mechanical issue, according to airport officials.
The Associated Press reports that smoke was reported in the cockpit and the emergency landing happened soon after takeoff.
The plane landed safely at Bradley, airport officials said.
There were 93 passengers and six crew members on the plane. There were no reported injuries.
The cause is under investigation.
