Three Hartford police officers and Chief James Rovella are set to go on trial in an alleged brutality case.
Jury selection and the trial are scheduled to begin Monday in federal court in Bridgeport.
Police are being sued by members of a Hartford family -- Fabian Edwards; his mother, Elizabeth Edwards; and his brothers, Kenville Edwards and Keith Michael Mitto. They say the officers assaulted them and used stun guns and pepper spray on them for no reason at their home in 2012. The three brothers also were arrested.
A city lawyer denies the allegations.
The defendants include officers Matthew Cornell, Christopher May and Eric Baumgarten.
The family says the series of events began when one of the officers pushed Fabian Edwards for no reason, and he began questioning why.
