Suspected Chicken Wing Thief Caught in South Windsor

An East Hartford man is accused of stealing $3,000 worth of chicken wings and other meat.

South Windsor Police arrested a man accused of stealing frozen chicken worth a few thousand dollars on Saturday.

Juan Flores, 48, of 122 Washington Avenue in East Hartford, was caught on surveillance tape at a South Windsor meat distribution business, according to police.

An investigation in February led police to review footage that revealed Flores had stolen frozen chicken wings and other meat products and was passing them out to people he knew, police said.

The total value of stolen goods is thought to be about $3,000.

Flores has been charged with larceny in the third degree and was released on $1,000 non-surety bond.

His next court appearance is July 26 at Manchester Superior Court.
