Storms Knock Out Power to Many, Bring Flash Flooding

Thunderstorms moved through Connecticut Saturday afternoon bringing heavy rain, vivid lightning and gusty winds to some towns.

Eversource reported more than 4,300 outages at the height of the storms.

The Windsor Locks Fire Department reported flash flooding in town and Tweeted that they responded to what was reported as a vehicle trapped in water. Two people had to be removed from the car and the vehicle was towed from the water.

The cold front responsible for the storms today will stall off of the coast overnight into Sunday.

With the front nearby we will see clouds and cooler temperatures linger into Sunday. High temperatures on Sunday will only be in the 70s with lower humidity.

We also can't rule out a few showers with windy conditions. Winds will be out of the northeast at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 25 mph.
