Armed Robbers Steal Cigarettes, Cash in Wallingford

Armed robbers held an employee of The Pit Stop Gas Station/Convenience Store in Wallingford at gunpoint late Sunday night and stole cigarettes and cash, police said.

The armed robbery happened at The Pit Stop Gas Station/Convenience Store, at 66 Woodhouse Avenue, around 10:40 p.m., according to police.

The robbers held the station attendant at gunpoint while they stole cigarettes from behind the counter area and cash from the cash register.  The station attendant was not hurt. 

Police said the robbers fled the area in a dark- colored four-door sedan.
