Atheneum Square in Hartford and two Travelers buildings were shut down Thursday afternoon after a suspicious package was discovered. It turned out to be a duffle bag.

The entire Travelers building and the tower were evacuated. Prospect Street, between Arch and Grove were also closed, as was Main Street from Arch to Atheneum.  They reopened around 1:45 p.m. and the building reopened.

The square is in a busy section of Hartford located close to the State House.
