Ledyard police are trying to solve a mystery at a Mashantucket burial ground.

Ledyard police officers responded to the burial grounds on Fanning Road around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday night after tribal police told them they had lost contact with one of their officers, according to the Norwich Bulletin.

Apparently, that officer had been attacked and beaten by a man described as being about 5-feet, 7-inches tall, and wearing a hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The identify of the officer is being held pending further investigation.
