Baby Beverage Burglar Busted: Cops

Selling baby formula helped a Waterbury man feed his drug habit, cops say, but he stole it – thousands of dollars worth.

Robert Desroches, 48, is accused of stealing $2,000 worth of baby beverage from several stores in Massachusetts over the past year, the Berkshire Eagle reports,

“He was going to Price Chopper, Rite Aid and Big Y, shoplifting baby formula, bringing it back to Waterbury and selling it on the street to support a drug habit,” Police Sgt. William Bartini told the Massachusetts newspaper.

Great Barrington authorities arrested Desroches on Sunday afternoon after a Rite Aid employee notified police that he was in town.

Desroches has been charged with larceny and shoplifting and is set to appear in Southern Berkshire District Court on Thursday.
