Police are looking for this woman in connection with five robberies.
Police in three states are looking for one bank robber who hit five banks in just one week.
The latest happened Friday at the New Alliance Bank on Silver Lane in East Hartford.
Police say a woman went into the bank around 12:30 p.m. and passed a note to the teller, which said she had a bomb and demanded a thousand dollars. Then she took off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
"Can't believe it because we live so close by, and things like this don't happen that often around here," said Juan Cabel, a customer of New Alliance Bank.
"I'm surprised. I thought it was in a different part of the state," said Kathy Pontes, another customer.
Police believe Heather Brown of Norwich is also responsible for robberies in Middletown, Montville, West Springfield, Mass. and Westerly, Rhode Island.
According to the New London Day, Brown was recently released from prison for a bank robbery in Groton City three years ago.
Police say Brown's method is always the same. She goes into a bank, claims to have a bomb and gets away with cash. She's been caught on tape not only in East Hartford, but in a Montville Citizen's Bank, a Middletown TD Banknorth and a West Springfield Webster Bank.
"If they don't catch up to her, she's going to end up hitting five more. They better catch up to her soon," said Noemy Louangvannasy, another bank customer.
The New Alliance Bank stayed closed for the day with a sign on the door telling customers to come back.
"I'm going to continue coming here, but they really need to do something about security. Cameras not going to do it. They need to tighten up their security here," said Louangvannasy.
Police ask anyone with information on the whereabouts of Brown to contact them.
