Wasn't too hard to find him. He did business there a few days before.

Bank Robbers, Please Change Your Clothes

Southington Police

This was Monday, when police say the alleged robber was just cashing stolen checks.

We don't advocate robbing banks.  But if you're going to do it, we think common sense tells you not to rob the same bank branch that you usually use.

Southington Police arrested Edward Nowak, 44, of Bristol Thursday night, just hours after a robbery at the Webster Bank branch on Queen St.

Nowak was captured on surveillance camera during the robbery, police said.  The problem for Nowak though, was the same surveillance cameras spied Nowak in the same bank, wearing the same exact outfit at the exact same teller location three days earlier, according to police who reviewed the tapes.

Police figured out who he was because he had made transactions at the bank. In fact, investigators say Nowak had cashed stolen checks during that earlier bank visit.

Officers caught up with Nowak in a Super 8 Motel in Waterbury Thursday night.  He's facing robbery, larceny, and threatening charges and was held on a $250,000 bond.
