Bank Robbery in Wallingford

The Connecticut bankers Association is offering a $2,000 reward.

Wallingford police are investigating a bank robbery at the First Niagara Bank.

A man robbed the bank at 316 Main St. around 9:30 a.m., according to police.

Bank employees said a man wearing a hood and a mas vaulted the counter, emptied one of the cash draws and ran south along Main Street with the cash, police said.

The robber was heavy set and between 6 feet tall and 6 feet 4 inches. He was wearing an all gray sweatsuit with the hooded sweatshirt pulled tight around the face, a surgical/dust style mask and clear latex gloves.

He did not show w weapon and no injuries occurred.

The Connecticut Bankers Association has offered up to a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
