A man on a bicycle was hit by a car in Hartford Thursday.

Police were called to Franklin Avenue around 2:30 p.m. Several streets in the area were closed while police investigated the accident.

A worker at a nearby tattoo shop rushed to help the man and performed CPR until rescue crews arrived.

"Pulled the bike from between his legs because the bike was all bent up and stuff and just tried to take care of the guy," said T. Senuta.

The victim was rushed to the hospital and is in critical condition.
