Democratic U.S. Rep. Chris Murphy and his Republican counterpart on the congressional Center Aisle Caucus will hold a bipartisan town hall meeting in New Britain today.

Today’s public question-and-answer session marks the second event for the co-chairmen of the caucus.

Congressman Murphy appeared with U.S. Rep. Timothy Johnson in October at a town hall meeting in his Illinois district.

There are 50 members in the bipartisan caucus. It was first formed about seven years ago to help foster camaraderie and cooperation among members of the two political parties in Congress.

The event today will take place at the Winestone Tavern at the Stanley Golf Course from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Murphy is running for the U.S. Senate and has touted his work on the caucus during the campaign.

Murphy is vying for the democratic nomination for senate against Susan Bysiewicz.
