U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal says he'll be talking about college affordability and other middle class issues when he gives the commencement address at the Quinnipiac University School of Law this weekend.

The Connecticut Democrat also will receive an honorary degree from the law school during the commencement Sunday morning at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden.

Blumenthal says he'll be urging the 116 graduating students to leave the country better than they found it and to tackle the challenges of increasing student debt, the economy and persistent unemployment. He'll also talk about new measures to help the middle class, including making college more affordable.

Nearly 300 students are enrolled at Quinnipiac's School of Law.
