A body has been recovered from the Farmington River in Canton.

A woman walking her dog spotted the body around 9:30 this morning.

Canton Police and Fire responded along with two EnCon officers who were searching in the nearby area for missing rafter Rachel Greene of New Hartford.

Greene was reported missing last Saturday after going rafting with friends in the early morning hours. A man in the raft with her and two other men in a second raft made it to shore safely.

The body found this morning was found about three miles from where Greene was reported missing.

Authorities were unable to identify the body at the scene and it was transported to the chief medical examiner's office for a positive identification.
