Bomb Threat Prompted Evacuation of School, Municipal Buildings in Milford

Harborside Middle School in Milford was evacuated on Tuesday morning after a bomb threat was found in a restroom around 8 a.m.

Police said the threat came in the form of a suspicious note that implied a bomb.

School administrators called police and the on-site School Resource Officer coordinated with school officials to evacuate students to the nearby Parsons Government complex as a precaution so the school could be swept.

More police responded , as well as the Connecticut State Police Bomb Squad and three State Police three canines trained in bomb detection.

No suspicious packages found. Shortly before 9 a.m., the school was cleared and deemed safe and students and staff were able to return to the building.

As a precaution, municipal buildings and nearby Laurelton Hall were notified and people einside sheltered in place as the buildings were checked.

Milford Police are investigating to determine where the note came from.
